Sue Rapple

Senior Vice President and Chief Development

Ms. Rapple leads BWH’s Development team in connecting donors to the hospital’s world-class care, research and educational programs through philanthropic outreach. With more than 30 years of experience leading development strategy and comprehensive fundraising activities for nonprofit organizations, she leads BWH’s efforts to fuel innovative training, quality patient care, and life-changing discoveries that are essential to the hospital’s mission. Ms. Rapple oversees Life.Giving.Breakthroughs., the hospital’s $1.5 billion campaign to transform the future of medicine.

 

Ms. Rapple previously served as Harvard Medical School’s dean for Resource Development where she oversaw the planning and execution of “The World is Waiting: The Campaign for Harvard Medicine.” In her previous role as associate vice president of Development at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, she oversaw the implementation of the $1 billion “Mission Possible” campaign. Ms. Rapple has also held leadership positions in Development at the Harvard School of Public Health and Dartmouth Medical School. Ms. Rapple earned her bachelor’s degree in finance from Babson College and her master’s degree from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education.
